My name is Lauren Deats. I am the founder and creator of the Career Bloom Solutions Company. I started my career in HR over 10 years ago. I had been married for almost 5 years and was suddenly a single parent. I mean not that sudden.. the divorce process takes forever. If you know, you know. 

As a single parent, I was looking for a purpose in life and where I wanted to focus my professional time and effort. I was in my early 20's, newly single, newly divorced and newly.... well lost. I found a job in a mattress store. It was run by an amazing couple who had owned it for a long time and were the biggest gift to me and my children. They worked with my hours that i needed to parent. They paid me more than anything else was willing to offer a single mom without a college degree at the time. Most of all, they were supportive. I mean my boss came to my divorce hearing and fronted me the money for my attorney. (Don't see that everyday).

I worked in that mattress store for almost 2 years. I learned how to and how not to do sales. lol. 

I loved it, but still something told me I wanted to help people more. Eventually I got into an interview with the local workforce in my area. I was assigned to the business department. Where it was my job to assign youth with barriers to employment (Think early parenthood, jail or foster placement) to local volunteer positions in the area. The company I worked for, footed the bill for that while the non-profit got the free labor. Win-Win.

I loved it! I fell in love with everything involved with helping someone find the right career path for them. I placed our clients in so many different jobs. Headstone etching, pet grooming, finance, welding, forestry and so many more I cant remember them all. 

​

While working there I met a guy who needed a dog sitter. Zach or as I like to call him now - Hubby. He was handsome, charming and most of all had a great job with great benefits. lol. Kidding, I'm kidding. 

He was active duty in the military and had a daughter of his own. After a few months of dog sitting and him asking me out... a lot. It was a lot. I finally said yes to a date.

The rest is, as they say.. History. We fell in love, mixed the family together and moved 3 times in 6 years. Gotta love that military life...

Fast Forward to September 2024. We had just settled in and unpacked after a cross country move to Texas, from new York. I was in love with my HR job based out of Rochester, NY. We now had 5 children combined and 3 dogs. (I Promise I am still sane). 

​

Then it happened.....BAM. Like a ton of bricks. A random video request from my manager, a quick 20 minute chat about the changes in the company and there it was.... the dreaded words no one wants to hear their manager say on a random Wednesday. Your position has been eliminated. 

​

I was terrified. I had built up a career to the point where I was supporting half my household and responsible for all of our savings, investments and our kids college funds. I did what I knew I had to do. I applied for unemployment. I cried. Then I got right back to it. I was used to job searching at that point. Afterall I had done it so many times relocating for my husbands job. However....

​

This time was different. I wasn't job searching in a normal job market. I was job hunting in 2024. Post Pandemic, Post Election and prime time for spam jobs. After getting some call backs, reaching out to my network and navigating the job search... I realized something. In the first month of me looking for my own job, I had helped over 20 other people find jobs of their own. I have always had that passion if you recall, from my mattress store days. I love helping people. So I decided that's what i would do.

So with the help of my never doubting husband and a little wine.... Career Bloom sprouted out of the ground. January 1st 2025 will now hold a very special day in my heart. It's the day the company I had been planting the seeds for my whole life, pushed thru the soil and found the sun. 

 

So here it is. My life's work in full bloom..... Career Bloom Solutions LLC.
