I had a client tell me last week that she'd applied to 180 jobs since March and hadn't gotten a single phone screen. She wanted to know what was wrong with her resume. Nothing was wrong with her resume. Her resume was fine. What was wrong was that every one of those 180 applications had a filter turned on that she'd stopped noticing, and that filter had quietly shrunk her entire job market down to about the size of a postage stamp.
